The Marcus Island Reunion Association is a non-dues paying association made up of the best men that ever sailed aboard the greatest CVE in the U.S. Navy, the U.S.S. Marcus Island (CVE-77). Its purpose is to re-establish and maintain contact with the ship's company, airmen and crews that served aboard her (CVE-77, VC21, VC87 and VOC-1). We also welcome all of the family members of these great sailors. By becoming a member of MIRA you will have access to a roster of those who served aboard the ship and a treasure chest of other benefits such as: information about reunions, help with locating old shipmates, a newsletter - "The Galloping Ghost" ,where to get your service records, medals, etc., and a subscription form for the "PIPER", a quarterly newspaper published by the Escort Carrier Sailors & Airmen Association, Inc. It is devoted entirely to CVE's their airmen and crews. We think you will enjoy the sea stories & letters from the men who served on these invincible CVE's. |
